Blurred ball

The motion-blur effect also arises for our eyes. Of course these do not work like a camera by shooting a picture during a fixed exposure time. What happensis that the light hitting our retinas produces a set of impulses that is then passed on to the brain along the opticnerve. The continuous stream of information sent from the retina is interpreted by The circle of fire the brain in discrete packages, since sufficient information has to be collected first to allow for interpretation. The time required to put together such a package is called “integration time.” Each of these packages can be regarded as an image. If an object moves very fast between the different integrations forming such images it will appear blurred, just like objects moving during the exposure time of a camera.
